From reactive or dogs to skittish cats, not all pets are what I’d like to call “wedding-ready”.

Dogs are hands down my very favorite wedding guests. I love the personality, unpredictability, and smiles they bring to an event.

“It’s like rain on your wedding day”… or so Alanis says. But showers on your big day don’t need to be ironic, as a matter of fact they can be downright beautiful!

Let’s be honest, no one loves wrangling relatives and then standing around with plastered smiles waiting in the hot sun (or bitter cold) to cycle through 30 different combinations of everyone in your family tree. However, we know that many of these photos are necessary. 

You’ve finally scheduled that long overdue family photo session, now what?

Contrary to popular belief, being photogenic is not something you’re born with; it’s a skill you can practice and learn- just like riding a bike or playing the ukulele. 

Like many photographers, I offer mini sessions in the Fall. Because we live in the Pacific Northwest and I only offer a limited number of spots with several sessions in one day, I deem these sessions: “Rain or Shine”.

Today I want to get personal about celebrating Mother’s Day, or more accurately not celebrating Mother’s Day. BTW, that’s me and my adorable mom- seriously, how much do you love those 1984 Sally Jesse Raphael glasses? Gen Z, google it.
